Congress approves short-term FAA funding extension through March 31

With funding for the Federal Aviation Administration under the current authorization set to expire Sept. 30, the U.S. Congress passed a six-month extension that funds the agency through March 31, 2018.

After several votes throughout the week, the House and Senate finally agreed upon the same language in the short-term extension, which now moves to the White House and awaits the signature of President Donald Trump.

Congress had until Saturday to reauthorize the FAA. The short-term extension averts a partial shutdown of the agency.
