Sales Representative - Avionics

1st Shift Monday - Friday

The Sales Representative - Avionics performs sales activities resulting in meeting or exceeding sales and financial goals; and assists customers in developing the appropriate work scope and works with appropriate team members to ensure successful completion of the work scope to the customer's expectation. In addition, this position establishes and follows Best practices when scheduling projects and completing project-handoff; reviews item approvals for accuracy and applicability. Nurtures and maintains customer relationships with customer while in-house; and participates in completing department goals established in strategic plans and overall Company's objectives.

Essential Job Functions

1. Generates accurate proposals from quote requests, creates Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) as needed, provides timely follow up with customers, closes sales, and releases Service Plan to achieve financial objectives identified in the annual budgets. Supports others service sales personnel in their sales efforts to foster "team selling". Consistently maintains high close ratio.

2. Prepares accurate and detailed work scopes and works directly with support teams (i.e. Design, Engineering, technical representatives, etc.) to ensure successful completion of the work scope to the customer's expectations.

3. Promotes Duncan Aviation services at every opportunity including attending conventions and tradeshows, customer visits, intelli-conferences, preparing newsletter and tele-fax articles, etc.

4. Participates in aircraft make and model teams and develops and supports marketing with developing marketing campaigns for assigned aircraft.

5. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Specific Requirements

  • Licenses/Certificates: Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
  • Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; multiple night and short notice travel
  • Physical: Repetitive motion; tolerates sitting
  • Environmental: N/A

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Aviation, Industrial Design or related field or equivalent required
  • Must Have direct experience with Avionics Systems either troubleshooting, installation, service or sales (Collin’s Aerospace, Garmin, Honeywell, SatCom Direct and various WiFi Solutions) 
  • Three years business aviation sales, or business development experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, and autopilot systems. 

  • Perform Testing and Inspections of Pitot/Static, Altimeter, Air Data and Transponder Systems IAW 14 CFR 91.411/91.413- and 24-Month Certifications. 

  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on a variety of general and corporate aircraft. 

  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards.

Position:      Avionics Technician III- Hourly position, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Reports to:  Avionics Supervisor

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair avionics systems and components. Must have experience on Citation X, Global Express and Challenger 300/350.  Troubleshoot and repair of avionics equipment to component level, including areas of: Com/Nav, ADF, Transponder, DME, Radar, audio systems, navigation instrumentation autopilot system components, radio altimeters, etc.
  • Enter write-ups of work performed in the computer or on the disc sheet after work is completed.
  • Stay current with changes in the technical area, as service letters are issued on avionics equipment and other informational items are furnished for new product etc.
  • Assist service and maintenance of avionics systems both on the bench and in the aircraft.  Check avionics systems in aircraft after repairs.
  • Assist the avionics supervisor and crew leader with customer relations, closing of work orders and other administrative functions when needed.
  • Assist in maintaining avionics library, service bulletins, microfiche and any new technical information and the orderly operation of the service shop area.
  • Maintain current calibrations status and records for shop test equipment.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Crew Leader or Manager

Required Education and Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Factory Certification of various types in avionics and repair plus a minimum of three years of previous related experience. Must have experience on citation X, Global Express and Challenger 300/350
  • Valid driver's license
  • Airframe & Powerplant License a plus

Salary: Depends on Experience

 

The CMM Programmer – Operator will program a coordinate measuring machine and utilize said program and equipment to inspect precision machined parts to drawing requirements (under little supervision). Additionally, various measuring devices including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, bore gages, depth gages, thread gages, height gages, etc. will be utilized. 

 

Partial Job Duties and Responsibilities

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of all materials, in process parts and finished products.

Programming and operation of CMM, optical measuring equipment, height gauges and various handheld measuring devices

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of all materials, in process parts and finished products

Complete documentation needed to support AS9100 QMS including but not limited to FAI report

Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 Standard

Identify quality problems and recommend solutions

Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning

Monitor documentation for accuracy and completeness

Work closely with CNC machinists to complete inspections and support the team to meet Customer deadlines

• A high school diploma or equivalent

• Basic computer skills using Windows related software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)

• 5yrs minimum experience in a machine shop environment working with Aerospace components

The job operates in a professional office environment and Industrial environment. Working conditions will most often include an open aircraft hangar environment which is exposed to various ambient conditions that can be loud due to aircraft engines and equipment

The individual will be required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Job Description

We are currently seeking a Level II Structural Mechanic. The mechanic will be performing structures modification work. He or she must be able to read, understand, apply blueprints, and basic sheet metal repair criteria. They should be proficient at working with or without established blueprints to drill, bending of metals, riveting, dimple, file, grind, trim, countersink, install aircraft structural assemblies, and subassemblies.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of the proper usage of current Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness. He or she will be expected to be proficient at repair or fabrication of defective sections or parts, using metal fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· 206 series Cabin/Tail boom fixture.

· 205/212/412 Tail boom fixture

· Experience with STC kit installation is a must.

· Experience on Bell Helicopter fixtures.

Employment is conditioned on satisfactory passing and participation in a mandatory FAA/DOT alcohol and drug screening and testing program.

Pay Range: Level II Structures Mechanic - $72,800 to $83,200 per year depending on experience and capabilities

Horizon Avionics Inc. is searching for motivated and experienced General Aviation Mechanics. We are based on Mcghee Tyson Airport and do little to no travel maintenance. Our primary aircraft audience is composed of private propellor-driven aircraft, such as Cessna 172 and 182, Beachcraft Bonanza and Barron, Cirrus SR series and Piper Cherokee, Malibu and Mirages to name a few. Standard working hours are from 8am to 5pm with an hour break for lunch Monday through Friday.

Mechanics are expected to assist/lead in annual inspections, engine changes, oil changes, troubleshooting and 100 hour inspections. Applicants are expected to work well with team members, have troubleshooting experience within the field, and own a basic set of aviation hand tools.

For Mechanics that have their A&P license and have the experience for an IA certificate, Company sponsorship of testing and licensing will be provided after a probationary period. We offer company paid Bakers test prep. schooling in Nashville (per diem, hotel, 40hr pay for the week will be paid) and cost for the IA testing.
