AGING AIRCRAFT WIRING
Presented by David Hyland, Global Jet Services
This seminar is designed for anyone involved in aircraft maintenance. Individuals who access an aircraft should be able to evaluate wiring conditions. The course is built with the understanding that in many cases, aircraft wiring has lasted longer than the original manufacturer intended. Therefore, technicians must be able to inspect aging wiring. Topics include: wire condition, wire characteristics, routing, termination, soldering, splices and grounding. Emphasis is placed on common wiring issues. Real-world examples are used.

8 a.m. - Noon Conference Center Room 108
EXPORT COMPLIANCE

Doing business across international borders is full of obstacles, and U.S. export laws can be among the trickiest obstacles to navigate. In this class, discussion will center on how to comply with U.S. export laws, by identifying the right standards for compliance and having a structured approach to ensuring compliance with each of them. This session also will examine the proposed changes to the U.S. export rules and how they might change the way you do business. Finally, some of the “tricks” that aviation exporters might employ to make exporting easier will be discussed.

PASSENGER ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS
Presented by David Hyland, Global Jet Services
With the increased popularity of passenger entertainment systems, the avionics technician must be able to understand these systems. This PES course does not cover any particular manufacturer, but rather discusses the general principles common to all systems. These systems present unique challenges not found in traditional aircraft nav/comm systems. While PES is not a critical navigation system, an improperly installed system can cause electrical problems and fire. For this reason, it is critical to understand these systems. Topics discussed include: installation, maintenance, testing, software considerations, power usage and inspection. This course will stress real-world examples and common problems.
