Wednesday, April 23, 2008
Reagan International Trade Center
Bus departures from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Join fellow AEA members as we salute the nation’s capital. Our evening will begin at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center, America’s site for global trade; this landmark building fulfills a dream of President John F. Kennedy, to revitalize Pennsylvania Avenue, the “Avenue of the Presidents.”

Motor coaches will transport us from the Gaylord National Resort to the Trade Center, located between the Capitol and the White House. Upon arrival, mingle with fellow members while you sample a variety of food stations and great libations. Then, get ready for a rousing parody of politically charged skits, songs and dances performed by The Capitol Steps.

The Capitol Steps performers have worked as staffers on Capitol Hill, some for Republicans and some for Democrats. In fact, the current cast has at one time or another infested the offices of 11 U.S. Senators and seven Members of the House of Representatives. During the past 25 years, they have recorded 27 albums, appeared on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show,” CNN’s “Inside Politics,” “20/20,” and dozens of times on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.” Their song and dance parody is based on the scandals of the day…and with 2008 being a presidential election year, the show is a must-see!

Tickets are included in a full convention registration or full spouse registration.

Suggested attire: business casual. Please bring a photo I.D. with you for entrance through the security station at the Reagan Trade Center.
