You are invited to a day of fun and
camaraderie at this long-standing AEA tradition. This
golf tournament has been an ongoing event since 1980.
The fee of $125 per player includes
green fees, golf cart, practice balls and a box lunch.
As always, $10 of the golfing fee goes into the Lowell
Gaylor Memorial Scholarship Fund. This donation allows
the tournament founder’s memorial scholarship
to continue each year.
Tantallon Country Club opened in 1965,
and it is one of the premier courses in the Washington,
D.C., area. Named after the Tantallon Castle, a stronghold
built atop cliffs in northern Scotland, in the 14th
century, this country club is a formidable site and
has stood the test of time. It is first and foremost
a Ted Robinson designed course — his only East
Coast golf course. His three major objectives for
designing a course are flexibility, memorability and
natural beauty. The variety of challenges you’ll
face, the unique holes and greens you’ll remember,
and the beauty of the tree-lined, rolling fairways
is a testimony to achieving these objectives.
The Lowell Gaylor tournament again will
utilize a shotgun format with scramble-type play and
scoring system. This tournament is open to all AEA
convention attendees. Foursomes will be selected from
a random drawing. Look for some new twists added this
year!
Prizes will be awarded to first, second,
third and last-place teams, along with the longest
drive and the closest to the pin.
