AEA Member Benefits
The first stop for AEA members in search of the latest in regulatory topics, technical information and association news. The AEA website, aea.net, offers 24-hour access for AEA members around the globe who are in need of online training, meeting and event information, magazine archives, warranty claims, regulatory updates and more. It is the most comprehensive website for certified repair stations in the world.
Designed exclusively for AEA members, this online database allows members to turn unused equipment into dollars. Members submit, via email, their new/used inventory list to the AEA, which then consolidates all equipment into an alpha-numeric listing. Many members say this program alone pays their annual membership dues many times over! The monthly listing is available to members on aea.net. This is by far one of the biggest benefits of being a member.
Training & Professional Development
The AEA offers comprehensive training and professional development programs for its members featuring the latest regulatory, technical and business management topics. AEA members train at our annual convention or series of regional meetings held throughout the world, the Dan Derby Center for Professional Development in our headquarters building or through any one of our associate member manufacturers and training partners. Members have unparalleled access to training – online, in print and in the classroom.
With a full time office in Washington D.C. and an office in Cologne, Germany, the AEA is your voice in FAA and worldwide regulatory issues. The Association is involved in legislative matters and rulemaking imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration as well as International Regulatory Agencies. If a member is having a problem with their local regulatory office or has a comment on proposed rulemaking, Ric Peri, AEA’s vice president of government and industry affairs is simply a phone call away to represent our members.
Avionics News Magazine
The monthly publication of the AEA, Avionics News is "the voice" of the general aviation electronics industry. It is recognized as one of the leading publications for the latest information in avionics technology!
The AEA hosts an international convention & trade show, plus six regional meetings throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South Pacific. These meetings are designed with our members in mind; there are technical seminars, educational sessions, motivational programs and exhibits. It's not only a great learning environment, but an excellent way to network with your industry peers. Our trade show is your forum to see, hear and learn about all the new technology on the market!
Annual Rate & Labor Survey
Every year, AEA members are asked to complete a confidential survey detailing their specific labor rates, employee benefits and plans for growth. This detailed report allows members to examine industry trends across the United States, Canada, Europe and the South Pacific.
